On an unseasonably warm Cleveland Friday in January, over 100 professionals and students joined together from all over our Ohio Kentucky Chapter for an afternoon of creativity and inspiration. We gathered at Forest City Brewery to kick the event off with a classic design charette, no digital aids only hand drafting and rendering. Teams were tasked to work with individuals they may have never worked with before, or even met until that day, to design an IIDA trade show booth for the popular annual event Post NeoCon as well as develop a new event name.
Over two hours, team members put their creative minds together to create a final presentation board of their design. The winning booth design team included Andrea Akin, Industry IIDA; Megan Donahey, Student IIDA; Vicky Kraft, IIDA; Tonya Krinks, Industry IIDA; Chris O’Toole, Student IIDA; and Melinda Yoder. Check out their winning design!
After the charette, we gathered for a town hall discussion with our IIDA OHKY Chapter Board, including special guest for the weekend Ryan Ben, IIDA HQ Student Engagement and Advancement Coordinator. We discussed various initiatives going on at our City Center, Chapter, and HQ level, philanthropic opportunities in our community, and professional development hot topics such as NCIDQ certification.
We thank everyone for attending, and especially our judges for the charette Jackie Kubilus, Industry IIDA; Kristie Oldham, IIDA; and Sarah Mosko!
