The Legend Lives On, Powerbond®
When introduced in 1967, Powerbond, Tandus Centiva’s hybrid resilient floorcovering, was a game changer. In one product, you could get the look and feel of carpet with the backing of a resilient product. Powerbond was an instant success, and it continues to build on the legacy today.
Throughout 2017, Tarkett and Tandus Centiva are celebrating the 50th anniversary of Powerbond with 50 stories. The first date back to some of the original installations, one that 50 years later is still in place.
Powerbond is legendary for its ability to stay looking amazing over time, performing in areas that see constant high traffic. And spills. And water. And crayons and markers and mud. Perhaps nowhere is the product’s amazingness more on display than in schools throughout Colorado. In just a few school districts, five schools had Powerbond installs that exceeded 40 years, and a few nearing 30 years. In all that time, the flooring simply performed so well and was so easy to maintain that it didn’t need to be replaced, so the district could spend money on other needed improvements.
But don’t let this great story fool you. Powerbond can be used in any commercial setting imaginable, with high design and colorways to easily complement or set the stage for the perfect design. In Kentucky Powerbond has been installed recently in Studio A Architectural Firm, Atria Senior Living, Louisville Airport, University of Louisville, University of Kentucky, Asbury University to name a few. Because it’s from Tandus Centiva, Powerbond works perfectly with our LVT, as well as products from Tarkett’s full family of brands, including Johnsonite and Desso Hospitality.
So do you dare to specify Powerbond and really see what the life-span of the flooring can be?
50 years and counting,
