Ann McCaulley is the Manager of Specification and Design at Munson Business Interiors. Ann has been in the Interior Design industry for 43 years. She is a graduate of Western Kentucky University with a double major in Clothing and Textile Merchandising/ Interior Design.
Ann says that a key turning point in her career was the onset of Systems furniture as well as the introduction of AutoCad. She learned about these two aspects at a furniture dealership that had an Architectural Department. Ann says “I love what I do” she loves putting things together, the puzzle parts and pieces aspect of design.
When asked what she would do over with her career if given the opportunity, she says she would have tackled Architecture or Textile Design. Both of these entities are of interest to her. Ann’s personal design style she describes as Eclectic, a mix of antiques and modern.
IIDA means comradery to Ann. She says that time is a major factor in involvement. Ann’s advice to young designers just entering this industry is to take all of the Technology training you can. It will be very important in your career.
Ann’s hobby is traveling. Ann and her husband have traveled extensively! They have most recently traveled to Scotland, Costa Rica and Paris. They travel with a group of friends and have a wonderful time exploring new lands. The place she would most like to visit next is Switzerland!
