Kelsey is currently employed by Details Commercial Group in Jeffersonville, IN. In her current position she is involved in many aspects of Healthcare Design, particularly presentation boards which she genuinely enjoys. Kelsey will graduate in the Spring of 2017 from the University of Louisville with a degree in Interior Design. She currently has an Interior Design major and a minor in Art History.
Kelsey grew up in Floyds Knobs, IN where she developed her interest in Interior Design from her family. Her father built furniture and her mother is very creative which fostered her interests and abilities. She started her education at IUS but transferred to the University of Louisville to study Interior Design. Kelsey’s personal design style is Eclectic. She also likes the clean lines and white interiors of Scandinavian design.
When asked what her ultimate goal is she responded that she loves plans that are detail oriented and would love to ultimately be a Commercial Interior Designer. Her favorite aspects of Commercial Interior Design are detail oriented tasks just as drawing plans and furniture specifications. Her favorite project in school was an Urgent Care Center. She enjoyed the research into the Healthcare field. In her work life, she is currently working on a Worship Center and is anxious to see it come to fruition.
Kelsey’s advice to young interior designers just starting out in this business is to get an internship. She also suggests getting involved as a student member in IIDA. She explained that she learned a lot from Interior Talk Live as well as the Charettes.
She says that she can’t imagine not working if she were to win the lottery, however she would travel more. She would like to visit all of Europe but most like to visit Italy. When asked who would be Fantasy dinner guest list she replied: Andy Warhol, Emily Henderson, Frank Lloyd Wright and Mies Van Der Rohe!
