This March, the Cleveland Akron City Center was excited to host the annual Student Career Day program at the American Interiors showroom. The day began with one on one mock interviews and resume/portfolio reviews with six area design professionals, representing both various educational and work backgrounds.
Following the interviews, the students and professionals had the opportunity to tour the American Interiors showroom and concluded the afternoon with an open panel discussion where the students and professionals spoke about a variety of topics such as client interaction as a young design professional, professional dress and interview demeanor, the evolution of a designer's career path and so much more.
With three schools’ design programs represented - Kent State University, Virginia Marti College of Art & Design, and the University of Akron - the day provided a wonderful opportunity for design students to mix and mingle as well.
