Samantha is described as a driving force behind the organization, making significant contributions at both the Chapter and the City Center levels.  She exemplifies exceptional leadership, often taking the initiative to produce actionable results and continuously improving operations and communication. One of the people who nominated her said,  “What truly makes her a standout nominee for this award is her genuine willingness to help others. She is always approachable and eager to assist her fellow board members and chapter members alike. Her contributions have left a permanent mark on our Chapter and have helped us progress toward our shared goals. I am confident that she is the epitome of what the Member of the Year award represents – an individual who tirelessly works to advance the Interior Design profession and the mission of IIDA”

Kirsten has held various leadership positions within IIDA and has supported this organization throughout her career. She has led the success of many industry events, including but not limited to the Design Awards, CEUs, Mentorship Month, student portfolio reviews, Roundtables, Product Runway, Camp Architecture, Capitol Day/House Bill 504, and How to Get Involved in IIDA. She has been a mentor to both young and old by advocating for the value of IIDA and the interior design profession. And to quote the person who nominated her, “She is a fearless leader, positive role model, talented designer, respected professional, and loyal friend. She is an invaluable member of the industry and we are so fortunate to have her talent, continuous contributions, and support leading the forward movement of design and architecture”
