Celebrating Cleveland Akron Design

The IIDA Cleveland Akron City Center is proud to announce the winners of the 2019 I Design Awards: A Celebration of Interior Design. The award celebration was hosted Thursday, January 24th, 2019 at the recently renovated Agora Theatre and Ballroom in Cleveland, OH. These awards honor outstanding, originality, and excellence in the creation of interior design projects by a design firm in Cleveland or Akron, OH. The celebration also honors outstanding IIDA members in the community.

Projects were reviewed by a panel of design professionals. Lead juror was Patricia Rotondo, IIDA, RA, Senior Principal and Director of Interior Design at Antunovich Associates in Chicago, IL and the 2018 IIDA Member of the Year. Assisting Patricia was Marisabel Borja, Associate IIDA, and Haylie Lapinskas, NCIDQ, IIDA, both Interior Designers at Antunovich Associates in Chicago, IL.

“We, the jury, were very impressed with all the submissions, the creations from phenomenal and diverse groups of designers whose work left us wonderstruck. We were disappointed that everyone couldn’t win. The winning projects captured the essence of strong, creative design and achieved the highest levels of design excellence in the Cleveland Akron area. Every project told a different story by integrating various elements of surprise through the design narrative,” Rotondo stated on behalf of the jury.
